I very much want to groom my dog myself. I’m trying to obtain as much info. as I can without taking a dog grooming class. I need to know what tools I will need to start with and then can add to them as his coat changes as he gets older. I like the Teddy Cut the best.
All of you dog lovers out there that know about dog nutrition please help me, I´ve just inherited an adult female boxer and as well as a puppy female boxer, they wer my grandmothers and she just passed away, the adult boxer is not in very good shape I can se her ribs (shes that skiny), as for the puppy she looks ok. Im taking them to the Vet on Monday but I need to know Im buying the Right Food… Please Help.

My baby just had her first litter of pups this morning. Momma and babies are doing FANTASTIC! What I was wondering is, I would like to make sure she gets a little extra nutrition during this crucial period. She has never had any adverse reactions to any types of food, scraps, and so on. She is currently on a very good puppy food and has been her whole pregnancy. Is the puppy food good enough, or can I add other things??
I just got a little guff of of the board about feeding my dogs Purina. My vet said this is fine, but I am open to suggestions. Science diet and Eukanuba seem a bit pricey but I have considered buying them and mixing them in with the less expensive purina. Any suggestions?
I am not really interested in making my own dog food. No offense to those who do though. I am more than happy to supplement the food with “real” foods to increase my dogs nutrition but I live a high paced life style and can’t commit to making my own.
I would like to learn more in general about how to increase my dogs nutrition intake and will take any advice I can get.
Also.. does anyone out there use a home made tooth paste for their dog? I would be interested in knowing how they make it. I would like to start making my own dog tooth paste for my pups. Or at least a good brand.

Ok spare me the lecture, they are not my puppies and the people they belong to were already extensively lectured by me. It happened its over, now I would like to give them advice on what to feed the mother to keep her healthy and producing milk for her pups. Yes I know there is a pet overpopulation problem and I don’t agree at all… it was an accident the mother is being spayed and there’s nothing else I can do. Any advice about nutrition for the mother and tips about whelping would be greatly appreciated.

The inside of his hind leg has been scratched by my dog so that all of the fur is gone. The skin is this dark red color. It is like he has this itch on the inside of his leg. What is the cause of this? Is it the lack of nutrition?
